Radon assessment

A measurement programme designed around how the building is actually used, so results can be connected to occupied rooms, ground contact and practical follow-up.

Discuss this service

When this service is useful

  • Homes, offices and other regularly occupied buildings
  • Commercial and industrial properties with occupied ground-floor areas
  • Single-building checks and multi-site programmes
  • Due diligence, workplace review or post-mitigation verification

What we can examine

  • Building layout, occupancy and ground-contact rooms
  • Appropriate detector type, number and placement
  • Short- or long-term measurement strategy for the decision
  • Installation, tracking, retrieval and laboratory analysis
  • Results in the context of room use and measurement conditions

How the assignment develops

01

Review the building

Plans and occupancy information guide the measurement strategy.

02

Place and record

Detectors are installed in relevant rooms and tracked individually.

03

Measure and retrieve

The agreed exposure period is completed before detectors are collected.

04

Interpret

Laboratory results are assessed in the context of location, use and programme limitations.

Scope boundaries

Radon results apply to the measurement period and recorded locations. Building changes, ventilation, occupancy and seasonal conditions can affect interpretation. Mitigation design is scoped separately where required.
